Creating a dispersing agent that’s effective in water based paint requires a great deal of specialized knowledge and experience. At DOXA, we have developed D-271, a dispersing agent designed for use in water based systems with organic pigments, including carbon black. ABSTRACT:
The present report seeks to compare the effectiveness of DOXA’s Spredox D-271 grade with that of a competitor.
Spredox D-271 is a non-ionic polymeric dispersing agent for water based systems. It can be used in water based emulsion systems, and is effective in dispersing black, red, yellow, blue, and green organic pigments, as well as others. It provides excellent in-can stability and exceptional color density.
Spredox D-271’s large number of anchors are chained together, making it more effective and giving it greater strength.
RESULTS:
The results are shown in the tables below; D-271 shows superior performance than the competitor’s grade across all pigments, with particularly striking differences in yellow 83, red 170 and green 7.
